Thomas Duncan, son of Thomas Duncan and Esther Purvis, married Elicia Howland (1814-1869) on September 6, 1830. In 1832 Benjamin Tucker Howlandsold what would become known as the DUNCAN HOUSE to his daughter Elicia and son-in-law. The couple added the west four-bay half of the house and had thirteen children.
